Troubleshooting and answers

Common questions

These checks cover common learning, wiring, and simulator questions. If you are still stuck, send us the details and we will review them.

01Where should I start if I am new to electronics?

Start with the Learn section for explanations and guided topics, then choose a beginner-friendly project with a clear parts list and wiring steps. Check the board and component references when you need to identify pins or understand a part.

02Why does a project or tutorial not work as shown?

Check the exact board model, pin numbers, supply voltage, component orientation, library requirements, and code version. Compare your wiring against the guide one connection at a time. Board variants can have different pin layouts, so do not assume two similarly named boards are interchangeable.

03My circuit does not run in the simulator. What should I check?

First confirm that every component is supported in the current simulator, the wires connect to the intended pins, and the sketch matches the selected board. Read any compiler or runtime message carefully. Simulation support is not identical to physical hardware support, and some peripherals or libraries may not be implemented.

04The compiler says a library or header file is missing. How do I fix it?

Check the exact header named in the error and whether the selected environment includes that library. Confirm the library name and include statement match the project instructions. If the simulator does not provide that library yet, the sketch may need a supported alternative or to be tested in the appropriate local toolchain.

05I found incorrect wiring, code, or a broken link. Can I report it?

Yes. Contact us with the page URL, project or component name, what you expected to happen, and what happened instead. Include the exact error text and a screenshot when useful. For a correction, mention the specific step or statement so we can locate it quickly.

06Do all tutorials and components work with every board?

No. Compatibility depends on the board, voltage levels, pin mapping, available libraries, and the simulator's implemented features. Follow the board and component details on the relevant page, and verify electrical requirements before connecting real hardware.

07How do I ask about an account, privacy, or site problem?

Use the Contact page for account access, broken pages, privacy requests, and general support. Do not send passwords, authentication codes, API keys, or other secrets in an email or issue report.

08Can I reuse SolderHub project instructions or code?

Check the licence or reuse terms shown with the specific project, repository, or asset. Do not assume that every third-party image, library, schematic, or contribution has the same licence. Contact us if the page does not make the relevant terms clear.

Still stuck?

Send us enough detail to reproduce the problem

Include the page URL, board and component models, the steps you followed, and the full error message. Screenshots help when wiring or layout is involved. Never include passwords or private access tokens.

For physical circuits, check the board and component datasheets, voltage limits, current requirements, and wiring before powering anything. A simulation is a learning aid and does not guarantee that a real circuit is safe or will behave identically.
